It really is about connection. It’s about the relationships we form and the experiences we share with the people involved in our projects. When we get to the end of our careers, that’s what we’re going to remember.

For us, connection doesn’t end when we pack up our tools and leave site. Supporting community initiatives, organisations and charities is a big part of how we choose to connect. It’s something that we want to do. If we come to work and challenge ourselves each and every day, we can contribute in ways that are meaningful. That’s incredibly motivating, and it’s something that we’re really proud of.

There are so many worthy charities, organisations and causes. We really wish we could donate to all of them, but we’ve chosen the Save-A-Dog-Scheme and St Mary’s House of Welcome as our primary donation recipients.

– Save-A-Dog-Scheme –

‘Buddy’ was a border-collie x Belgian shepherd found in a car park in North Melbourne by one of Daniel’s friends in February 2009 and taken to a nearby animal shelter. After two weeks being unclaimed in the shelter and needing multiple operations, Buddy was scheduled to be put to rest. After a visit and walk around the yard together, Buddy was adopted by Daniel and booked in for his operations. Buddy passed away peacefully in December 2023 at the age of 17 – having made lots of furry friends and visited countless parks, forests and beaches by Daniel’s side.

Save-A-Dog Scheme (SADS) is a community-based not-for-profit animal welfare organisation that saves hundreds of dogs and cats from being put to rest every year. We support SAD’s no-kill philosophy and aim to support them in their efforts to provide veterinary care to sick or injured animals so that like Buddy, they too can live out their natural lifespan and find their forever home.

– St Mary’s House of Welcome –

St Mary’s House of Welcome is a Specialist Access Point for people experiencing homelessness in the heart of Melbourne. They provide basic essential services to people who are homeless and experiencing disadvantage, severe and persistent mental health issues, and those who are extremely isolated, socially marginalised and are at risk of falling through the gaps.

Everyone has a story to tell, but not everyone has the support of a loving family or friends. St Mary’s House of Welcome is often that support for people who need it most. We aim to contribute to their efforts in providing that support through our projects.
